As we move in to spring with this, 10th installment of Toys for Boys Magazine we look to all the new beginnings that we have been celebrating as a brand, from breaking ground on Toys for Boys Properties, to expanding to new markets. As well as the new beginnings of our content stars in this issue who have boldly embarked on ground breaking projects with the same trailblazing fervor that has made them the iconic men they are.
Take J Balvin for instance. The record breaking Latin artist has taken 2017 by the horns and landed a Guinness World Record Award for being the first Latin American artist to chill at the top of the Billboard Hot New Song list for 22 weeks straight; acting as an ambassador during New York Fashion Week’s latest installment, the men’s shows; and landed a coveted spot as a spokesperson for famed LVMH timepiece brand, TAG Heuer—also a first for Latin Americans. Since the date of his interview he has released new hits including “Hey Ma” alongside Pitbull and Camila Cabello which will be on the sound track for the new film, The Fate of the Furious, the latest installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise. And the fashionista shows no signs of slowing down. Heading out on tour, we look forward to seeing what’s next from Balvin, definitely a friend of our brand.
The rest of our cover stars are on the same path to newness. Philipp Plein, the lauded designer known for over the top fashion shows with production reaching the millions of dollars mark has similarly broken new ground with the release of Plein Sport, a sportswear line separate from his eponymous, ready-to-wear collections that’s meant to fill a void in the Athleisure space with what he calls the equivalent to private jet travel in the world of active wear. Available for both men and women, the collections are designed for those who need to look Plein-good, even when breaking a sweat.
Also diversifying his portfolio of projects is Chef Nobu who has launched Nobu-branded hotels and continues to expand them the world over. In-step with what the world has come to expect from the Nobu name, the properties are pristine and no detail is spared. Partnering again with his friend and colleague, Robert De Niro, the chef-cum-businessman is changing the way hospitality and cuisine coexist, upping the ante for properties and restaurants alike.
