Dustin Wilson was born and raised in Maryland. His interest in wine began while working at a steakhouse in Baltimore to pay his way through college. When he graduated he did so with a degree in Geography. Eagar to pursue wine and skiing more seriously he moved to Boulder Colorado. For 3 year he worked under Bobby Stuckey (a Master Sommelier) at Frasca Food and Wine. He worked his way up from a food runner all the way up to sommelier and eventually the wine buyer. He left Boulder for Aspen to work as a sommelier at the Grand Award winning, 5 Star/5 Diamond restaurant Montagna at The Little Nell Hotel. Wine and Spirits magazine recognized Wilson as one of America’s Best New Sommeliers while in Aspen. In 2010 he relocated to San Francisco to work under Rajat Parr at RN74. His wide variety of experience under several accomplished mentors motivated him to reach for the top.
If you watched the captivating documentary SOMM, you watched Wilson go through hell to reach the status of Master Sommelier along with some of his closest friends. He became only the 197th person in the world to pass the hard as nails Master Sommelier exam. Haven proven his mastery of wine, he soon scored a job as Wine Director at New York’s three-star Michelin restaurant Eleven Madison Park. Eleven Madison Park is as good as it gets in a city filled with some of the best food and wine in the world. While working at Eleven Madison Park, Dustin met and became friends with Anmol Bhandari.
Bhandari is quite the accomplished entrepreneur and businessman. When the Harvard Business School graduate sets his sights on something, he does so with a passion to succeed. When Bhandari founded PerUs wine he needed the best and the best is Dustin Wilson. Wilson is now the head of wine and education at PerUs.
